Gas station = not good, ppl going to Sarajevo or just in Mostar; stuff will kick you out after some time if you ask drivers, but you can chill inside the station and refill a water In front of gas station = not good and no shade Best place was actually right in front of the small kebab shop (entry to gas station). You might see a small sticker "official hitchhiking spot" :D Got a ride to Metkovic in 20 mins.

It might be an ok spot as you have people going out of the Memorial's car park and they see you hitchhiking. You could also ask them for a ride to Bratunac. I tried to hichhike the cars coming from Srebrenica but they are going very fast. At the end, a local bus going to Sarajevo stopped and took me to Konjević Polje for 12BAM. It really helped as I got a very easy ride to Zvornik there

Okay place for cars to stop and a lot of traffic. Im a bit unsure tho as you can get to Sarajevo this way (Doboj, Zenica) or through the South route. I had a kind driver take me a bit out of Doboj.

Got a ride in 10min to Mostar after signing and asking around. One guy driving to Sarajevo took me. Im one female There is a huge parking area for the restaurants and you can ask around, though people might be going in either direction. Cars driving past will be slow if there's traffic I actually wanted to go to Medugorje, but for some reason couldn't get a ride back to Čapljina from here. People didn't seem to want to take hitchhikers. Plus it's tricky to get to Medugorje from Čaplinja. So I decided to hitch back to Mostar first and take Bus 48 from there

I just arrived from Zagreb and went to the Croatian border (where the cars go) where I talked to a police officer that told me to take the pedestrian way (basically you go left before the customs and go for a specific border control for pedestrians on the left). She was nice but I do not think they would accept you to hitchhike there. I crossed the Croatian border in 5mn, there was no queue (advantage of hitchhiking a border versus having a car or being in a bus). Then I went on the bridge and started to hitchhike. The cars go very slow there. I had a cardboard sign "Sarajevo". A lady took me straight to Sarajevo !

Short ride, good place because cars have space to stop and the are not moving fast, this is the main road to Sarajevo

Not loads of space for cars to pull over but they are going slow and can see you clearly. We used a sign Travnik. We were very lucky and got a ride almost instantly, but I think it should always be quite quick to get a ride to Travnik from here as all the cars are going in that direction even though the amount of traffic isnt huge. The lovely people that picked us up were so kind that they drove us all the way to Sarajevo when it wasnt even their original destination. We were a couple.

In front of the gas station, this is the n'est spot in Bugojno to go towards Sarajevo

Good spot direction Kupres and Sarajevo. Although hhing in bosnia works quite well, I waited for over an hour. Maybe bad luck, the spot itself looks good.

Headed south towards Sarajevo, used a sign sayin SARAJEVO/TUZLA. Most of the people crossing the border were Croats who were signaling to us that they are going right back or stg. After some time a kind truck driver took us to Šićki Brod (close to Tuzla).

With a sign SARAJEVO we got a ride to Živinice in a matter of few minutes, not the best spot tho, quite dangerous, lots of traffic, the cars dont really have a place to pull over without blocking the traffic.

Great guy who later offered to take us to Sarajevo and sleep in his apartments for free 2 days later

Very good spot to hitchhike. A lot of cars in direction to Sarajevo. Spot where cars can easily stop. Took us truck.

Much traffic and many Cars going to Sarajevo or Doboj

We thought it would be better to get to here by bus from Sarajevo as it might be easier to get a hitch from here. Turns out it's some gypsy city and most of people were laughing at us. After 3 hours we've came to a conclusion it will be better to try to get back in the direction of Sarajevo and stop at the gas station on highway. It's possible to walk under the tunnel to an other city of the highway

A place with beautiful views and a station with a bathroom. We tried to hitchhike to Livno, and that was our mistake. I recommend hittingchhiking to Bugojno first, as most people deviate to Sarajevo.
