Lots of traffic going to Sarajevo but struggled to get further north. A sign may have helped. Eventually gave up and returned to Sarajevo after our seventh offer

We stood at the back of the petrol station, much more visible than standing at the front due to the trees blocking the view. Found this location a lot easier to leave Sarajevo than other main roads in the city

Difficult to pick up traffic driving along the road. Our car pulled into the petrol station exit and got us to Sarajevo

Great place to get a ride, road is divided into "Sarajevo" and "Zenica", wait just after the toll booth. Traffic is mostly super local, but will get you a quick ride.

Got a ride to Doboj from here (was looking to get to Sarajevo), after no success finding anyone up on the bridge. Good spot, cars not moving too fast, space to pull over, and most of them going out of town (towards Derventa at least).

We got very lucky at this superb spot. It is optimal for going to Doboj and furthermore Sarajevo. A local Bosnian told us that the chances of lifts is increased with a sign with Doboj on it. In our case two students picked us up and dropped us near Sarajevo. Would recommend this spot.

Quite a nice spot aldo you had to wait a little. Got lucky with ride to Cacak aldo if I wanted I could have gone all the way to Belgrade but as I was going to Sarajevo I got off at Cacak

Not many cars going to Sarajevo on Sunday afternoons, but the people at the gas station are very friendly and offered me water, also some other lovely locals stepped by. But in the end I went directly to the highway and got a ride immediately.

Good spot direction Sarajevo. Good amount of traffic even on Sunday, cars can see you from a distance, decent place to stop. Used a sign to Zenica and got a ride within the hour.

I just went to shit as first thing when we got here and my partner is calling me right away "we got a ride to Sarajevo!" 😀 Gotta love Bosna.

I am not sure exactly about spot, it was mount ago, but more less spot is there. It wasn't bad, I was lucky, guy from Germany offered me a ride directly to Sarajevo. I didn't refuse ofc Before him many cars passed. I suppose it is good spot to Serbia. I didn't have sign

Do not go here along the highway - the cars go slow but there is not enough space for pedestrians. We got there thanks to a local who saw us standing with a sign reading Sarajevo on the branching from the main road a took us here, before the toll booth. Then we waited some 10 minutes before a car stopped so overall a good spot

We put up a sign reading Sarajevo and a guy stopped immediately and offered to take us half the way to Zenica (which we accepted of course)

On a Sunday morning not many people were here but a kind couple agreed to take us (M+F) to the toll booth further north. We wanted to get to Sarajevo through Doboj and Zenica (but we were told that many people go from Banja Luka to Sarajevo through Jajce - the southern route).

last sidewalk before intersection to highway. straight road, cars go slow after supermarket. road towards mostar so lot of cars go that way! got very lucky and got ride straight to sarajevo. even stopped for coffee on the way. one thing to note - the road is quite steep from neum, in the heat it was awful to walk up. maybe try your luck closer to centre if you dont want to sweat.

Gas station = not good, ppl going to Sarajevo or just in Mostar; stuff will kick you out after some time if you ask drivers, but you can chill inside the station and refill a water In front of gas station = not good and no shade Best place was actually right in front of the small kebab shop (entry to gas station). You might see a small sticker "official hitchhiking spot" :D Got a ride to Metkovic in 20 mins.

It might be an ok spot as you have people going out of the Memorial's car park and they see you hitchhiking. You could also ask them for a ride to Bratunac. I tried to hichhike the cars coming from Srebrenica but they are going very fast. At the end, a local bus going to Sarajevo stopped and took me to Konjević Polje for 12BAM. It really helped as I got a very easy ride to Zvornik there
